Oh No

They now make my warm weather fantasy shoes in my favorite leg flattering color. Nude shoes are truly a short legged gal's best friend. If I had $600 to burn right now I'd be in biiiig trouble.

Love, love, love.

Getting crafty

After I overcame my awe/envy of Brooklyn Decker's bouncy hair, toned physique, pink dress and tanned skin on the cover of the new issue of Self magazine, my attention honed in on one thing -her gorgeous chain link bracelet. After a quick inspection of the inside cover, I realized to my dismay that the bracelet was Chanel. OF COURSE I'd be drawn to it, but afford it? Not likely. Suddenly a light bulb went off. A while ago I snagged a lovely faux Chanel cross body bag, which I shortened into a shoulder bag.

Thanks Asos!

I decide to use the excess chain to recreate this bracelet. Sorry the image quality is so poor...

After a quick trip to Michael's for a lobster claps ($2.99), and several attempts to make my scissors and tweezers work like pliers (ouch), I have my bracelet!

Doesn't it look great with my new watch (and ever-present cat scratches)? :)

Although this was a very small project, making something myself felt extremely gratifying. Especially since it saved me from a lifetime of bracelet envy. Now if I could only be equally successful in attaining Brooklyn's bouncy hair, I'd be all set! ;)

Psst

I found my red blouse! It's a little on the orange side, but I loved the cut, the fact that it's silk AND that it's on sale in stores for a mere $19.99.

I can't wait to tuck this silky blouse into my flared trouser jeans stat!

Lauren Conrad, who happens to have a birthday today, is a constant source of style inspiration. While I avoid most reality TV, I can't wait for her new show to air. Here's an old picture of Lauren that I love...

Can I please have your Chanel bag Lauren?

Next on the hit list? A lightweight chambray button down to wear with everything under the sun. I wanted one last year and couldn't find the ideal, so I held off. Luckily, as with most classic staples, they seem to be here to stay. I see myself wearing one with my new red clutch, white skinny jeans and the dream Miu Miu platforms, or perhaps tucked into a floral pencil skirt with the sleeves cuffed.... the possibilities with an item like this are endless. I fell in love with this one today at J. Crew thanks to it's superior softness and lack of obvious/tacky buttons/stitching, which are a major pet peeve of mine.

Naturally it would be $70, right?

I know I mentioned my Etsy addiction last blog and I'm here to tell you that I wasn't exaggerating. Here are two recent finds, which cost less than $20 combined!

The strap is fortunately detachable on my new envelope clutch. I love how oversize this clutch from the '60s is, not to mention the fab gold trim on its corners. Wouldn't it look cute worn with a little chambray?

This is a very zoomed in look at my new vintage knot posts. I wear so much gold jewelry that it seemed silly not to own any gold studs, and at the risk of sounding redundant, they're so classic!
