Fixated

Sorry for the long hiatus friends :) Due to my current schedule, I've found it increasingly hard to find the energy to blog at the end of the day, particularly since I'm now blessed enough to write about fashion for a living (Hallellujah!). Needless to say, I've been slacking on the blogging, but not on the shopping, online perusing, blog reading, and fashion loving.

One of the biggest changes in my current wardrobe is the presence of denim! After years of not wearing jeans, ever, I've finally incorporated them into my look. I credit the discovery of flattering trouser jeggings (cuter than they sound, I promise), comfy skinny jeans, and an ever increasing supply of boots that look great with the aforementioned skinny jeans, for the change.

These Fade to Blue jeans I found at Urban are so amazing that I've now bought a second pair (on sale), as well as a pair in black. Not only are they incredibly comfortable, they don't stretch out and fit the '70s aesthetic I'm currently loving. All I want to wear are silky blouses tucked into them.

.
Speaking of silky blouses, I found a great green button down (also at Urban). Now I'm on a hunt for Equipment style blouses without the $180 price tag in both red and white.

I'm loving her whole look here. Sadly, since I lack skin pigment I can't pull off the orange reds, so I'm looking for a similar blouse in a cherry hue.

Even though it's time to start thinking about Spring style, I'm still obsessed with the red boots Rachel Bilson wore a year or two ago. I found a pair on Etsy that were almost identical but unfortunately didn't fit. The hunt continues...

I still love my oversize Michael Kors watch, but to mix things up I've added a ladylike watch into the rotation and I'm seriously in love with it! It reminds me of a MUCH pricier Hermes watch and is utterly classic.

I've been consistently obsessed with Lauren Conrad's style (I also love her Style book, no surprise) and this look was a particular standout to me. I'm probably the only person not loving her new darker/shorter 'do, but the dress, the shoes! I scored the dress in tomato red at Urban Outfitters on clearance, but alas, methinks it will not be so easy getting my paws on her drool inducing Jimmy Choos.

Speaking of shoes, I'm majorly lusting after these gorgeous Miu Miu sandals.

Okay, sure they're $595. But I guarantee these bad boys would be worn for the next 5 years, if not longer. Classic spring/summer/autumn platforms. Nothing else will compare.
Since I've been gone (sounds like a Kelly Clarkson song), I've discovered a few new great blogs. The one that currently has me totally hooked is The Fashion Magpie. I swear I own something, have wanted something, or have written about something in each of her entries. She has a great eye for classic styling and since finding the blog just last week, I went back and read every single entry in the archives. This may make me sound crazy, but I will not apologize because it really is that good. I highly encourage you to check it out.

I'll leave you on a recent shopping victory. Perusing Etsy.com is one of my new favorite pastimes (I need less expensive hobbies). There's just something about finding something you know nobody else will have that's so exciting. I found this incredible little clutch and I'm so happy with it.

The best part? It only cost $12!
